My first post... joining the CWL

I first joined the CWL back in  2011 - and by "joined" I mean my Mother-in-Law coaxed me to add my name to this organization, to increase our numbers for when we petitioned the Government.  I even allowed her to pay my dues!

Just before Christmas of 2015, I got a call.  I had been nominated to the Executive of the CWL Council, as Christian Family Life Chair, and would I allow my name to stand for election?  What?  Me?  I've never even been to a meeting!  Why would someone nominate me for anything?  But something small and quiet in my heart whispered - let your name stand.

So I did.  And during my first CWL General meeting, I was elected as the Christian Family Life Chair of our Council.  I knew nothing about the organization, the structure of meetings, what I was going to have to do in this position... nothing.  All I knew is that Christian Family Life had something to do with Pro-Life, and that is near and dear to my heart.  So I went with it.  Made some blunders.  But I never felt alone.  I was always supported by the women in the Executive right along with me.

And now I am just started my second year as Communications Chair for our Council.  I've tried to make some good changes to our email - mostly out of downright frustration!  And now I am introducing a Website.

I think all of us Ladies of the CWL have stories about why we joined, the friends we made, the good we did, and the reasons we stayed active within it.  This is my effort.  And I know it's ok for you all because you are all lovely.  I am blessed to be working with you and to be supported by you all.

God Bless you all, my Ladies of the CWL.
